Ellie returns

Ellie is back! She had a lovely time. Here she is (in the pink hat) with the rest of the group, the teachers she went with, Sonya and Manosh who she stayed with, and the bus driver. She's been to lots of different temples, a Hindu wedding, birthday parties, KFC (!?), and been on an elephant ride through the jungle. I'm so jealous!

Ellie goes to India

This is Ellie on her way to school at 7 o'clock this morning. It had just started to snow. She is now on her way to spend ten days in Mangalore, India with five other children and three teachers. It's going to be 33 degrees there!

The longest school trip she's done up until now is one night at Wimbleball Lake about 30 miles away. I hope she's alright...

Getting Old in Style

This weekend we celebrated my dad's 70th birthday.Nice cake and silly games were involved. A good time was had by all. And he doesn't seem a day over 45! Old, what's that?
In contrast, Ellie has had her hair cut and now she looks much older! Where's my baby gone?

Happy Birthday Mum

We all went down to my Mum and Dad's yesterday to celebrate Mum's birthday. She was very brave and volunteered to take the dog out for a walk with us. Northam Burrows was freezing, but the dog had a good time and we all appreciated the warmth when we got back indoors.
We had a lovely tea of pizza and chips, with lots of other things thrown in besides, even though she said she didn't want to cook! And of course - birthday cake (s). Hope you like the picture Mum, it was either this one or the one of you looking like a goldfish as you blew out the candles!

New Years Day Outing

Despite the wind and the rain we all went out to stretch our legs today. We strolled along the beach at Saunton, along with many other dog walkers, and Willow ran round like a mad-thing after her new frisbee. It was most confusing the way it seemed to hang in the air and then be blown off in the other direction.
The Sands Cafe was open, so when we'd exercised enough we left the dog in the car and went for hot chocolate before coming home to settle down in front of a film. What a great start to the new year. I've a feeling this is going to be a good one.

Christmas Play

This is Ellie in her last ever Christmas play at Bluecoat. She was in the final scene and had the grand total of 3 lines, but she was quite happy when she discovered she had the last line of the play. She did it very well.

Santa Fun Run

Carl took part in the Santa Fun Run today in aid of North Devon Hospice. He set off from the Football Club at the front of the pack - a risky undertaking - and managed to be one of the first ones back too!
However, when the runners got to the end of the High Street there was a choice between the shorter run over the old bridge, and a longer one round Rock Park and over the Iron Bridge. He opted for the short run, blaming the weather. It was very wet.

There were only about 100 people doing it. I thought there'd be more. If you feel like donating any sponsor money, you know where to find us!
